MY STRATEGY
-
I have two main trading accounts where I exclusively trade futures:
-
Day Trading Account - only trade E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQ) and go home flat every day
-
Options Account - only trade E-mini S&P futures and related options (ES); will hold long or short ES futures and sell ES puts and calls with a variety of strategies focused on profiting from theta decay
-

-
Day Trading Account Strategy
-
I aim to profit from 20-30 point moves in NQ (1 point on NQ = $20 per contract)
-
I trade in multiples of 10 futures contracts and will limit my open position size to a maximum of 40 contracts
-
I only trade between 9:30AM and 12:00PM unless there is a news event in the afternoon that creates volatility where I feel I have an edge
-
I limit the total number of contracts I trade each day to 300 in order to limit overtrading and promote a focus on the best setups
-
I primarily focus on support and resistance levels utilizing moving averages, volume profile and volume weighted average
-
I will confirm my setups by looking at the order flow and depth of market (DOM)
-
My profit target for the day is $10,000 - $20,000
-
My daily stop loss is $18,000
-
My goal is to make 1-2% of my account balance per week
-

-
Options Trading Strategy
-
I will sell strangles or individual puts and calls on ES with 30-35 days to expiration
-
I will sell the weekly ES options on futures with Friday expirations and ladder out 4 to 5 weeks
-
I typically sell the 15-25 delta options
-
I will close out the options when I have achieved approximately 60% profit
-
I will be long or short one to five ES futures depending on how I view the medium term market trend and balance my account towards delta neutral
-
My goal is to make 1-2% of my account balance per month
